I know everyone else is raving about this foundation on youtube, but I really did not find it anything special :/ I am absolutely in LOVE with the original Revlon Colorstay liquid foundation, so I had very high hopes for this seeing as cream foundations usually offer a bit more coverage than liquid. However, this foundation seemed to go on a bit blotchy on my skin, & did not apply as evenly & smooth as my liquid Colorstay, nor did it have as much coverage. It is definitely not 24hr as it claims, @ least for my very oily skin. It broke down horribly around my t-zone (especially my nose) after just a few hrs. It never seems to dry & set like the liquid, even when topped with a powder.
- Neutrogena Shine Control Primer [$13]
I have very oily skin, so I was VERY excited when I heard about Neutrogena’s new shine control products. I wanted to buy the powder, however I noticed that it is translucent & I always prefer powders that give me coverage over my liquid foundation. So I decided trying the primer would be the best way to go, that way I could wear it under any foundation. However, I noticed this primer to be very gritty when I rubbed it into my skin…it seriously felt like a scrub, it was very uncomfortable & my face felt somewhat ‘dirty’ after i applied it :/ I later tried applying it by patting it into my skin instead, & that seemed to help a lot with how it felt & how it absorbed into my skin. But even then, come to find that it did not control the shine on my face, I was still getting oily just as soon as I would without the primer ):
I was very excited for these products but was pretty disappointed, & I have since returned them.
- Almost impossible to blend, you have to blend them out with a regular eyeshadow
[So you cannot really use them in the crease..]
Overall, I would give these Cream Shadow’s a 7 out of 10. They are very nice quality & color, however their uses are just a bit limited. However they are not limited because of the quality, they have limits simply because they are water resistant so once they dry they cannot be blended out @ all unless they are blended out with another shadow of a similar color.
After disliking the Mac Studio Fix Fluid in NC15, I tried the same foundation in NW15 & LOOOVED IT! ((:
This foundation has great coverage, & I was very surprised @ how well it worked with my oily skin considering that it’s oil based!. When set PROPERLY with a powder (using a powder puff, NOT a brush…), this foundation lasts all day long. (:
